Abstract:
Why view problem-solving as knowledge synthesis in multi-thematic and multi-discipline conceptual frameworks?  This is like asking, Who Wins the Big Game? In the New Era, problem-solvers, in the broad sense, are sought who think “outside the box,” who develop the skill of thinking about the solution of a problem rather than merely advance the skill of searching for it, who possess a certain level of esprit de finesse in addition to analytical thinking and, hence, they would appreciate some flavor of philosophy, psychology, and literature embedded in the interpretation of their formal scientific and analytical tools. Dreamers wanted, not pedestrians !

Host: Prof. Jinfeng Wang

Time: Oct 18, 2012 3:00 pm

Venue:Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research Chinese Academy of Sciences Conference Room: 1301
